Melbourne International Film Festival presents award-winning filmmaker Naina Sen’s film, The Song Keepers. The Song Keepers documents the Central Australian Aboriginal Women’s Choir, and their tour of Germany, as theyshare their music and stories of cultural survival, identity and inclusive cross-cultural collaboration with the world through sacred music in the Western Arrarnta and Pitjantjatjara languages, two living languages of the Northern Territory and South Australia, together with new music introduced through recent collaborations with other Centralian and international choirs. The Song Keepers will also screen in regional Victoria as part of the MIFF Travelling Showcase.
